Water Treatment Plant, City of New Bern, North Carolina
The project consisted of a new 5.0 MGD groundwater Water Treatment Plant for iron removal and softening, located on 60 acres of land owned by the City of New Bern. The plant includes fifteen wells, raw water mains, a finished water main and a backwash waste force main.
The Water Treatment Plant will consist of dual aerators, a raw water detention tank, filter pumps, pressure filters and softeners, chemical feed systems, treatment building, finished water storage tank, finished water transmission pumps, backwash waste lagoons and supernate pump station.? The treatment building also includes a laboratory, operations offices and a 60-seat training room.? The WTP supplements the existing Cove City well filed that is under the new CCPCUA Rules 75% reduction.? Rivers services included a Preliminary Engineering Report, test well/well field design, Environmental Assessment, surveying, design, bidding, construction administration, Resident Project Representative and start-up.
