General Obligation Bond Drainage Improvements, City of Greenville, North Carolina
Storm drainage improvements project consisting of over a one-third mile watershed within the Tar-Pamlico River Basin.
Due to deteriorating infrastructure and overloaded pipe systems, a hydrologic and hydraulic drainage study, analysis, and design was completed. Construction drawings and cost estimates were completed in accordance to the City’s approved design alternates.
The first phase of this project exceeded $1.5 million in construction cost and was completed in June of 2007. A second phase consisting of replacement of 720 linear feet of 72" storm drainage pipe through the City's public works yard is scheduled for construction in early 2008. Coordination with CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railroad is necessary to obtain permits and encroachment agreements for two additional phase of the General Obligation Bond Drainage Improvements. Once all agreements are in place, construction of future phases should be underway in Summer of 2008.
