Multiple Parking Facilities, East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina
As East Carolina University continues to expand enrollment, so does the need to accommodate more students and faculty. Rivers worked with ECU to plan and implement multiple parking facilities.
- Reade Street Parking Lots consisted of multiple asphalt parking lots along three blocks of Reade St between Fifth St and Second St.
- Rivers designed and engineered grading, drainage, curb and gutter, stone base, landscaping, irrigation, utility relocation including underground electrical service, poles and lights, and pedestrian shelter.
- Girls Softball Field Parking Lot consisted of a study investigating the feasibility of constructing a parking lot: asphalt with curb and gutter, stormwater detention facility, storm drainage, landscaping and irrigation.
- Rivers recommended improvements for the security cameras, telephones, lighting and bus shelters.
- For the Freshman Parking Lot, Rivers planned the excavation, stone base, curb and gutter, chainlink fencing, and utility for a 1,002 space parking lot
