Eastern Elementary School, Beaufort Co., NC

Rivers provided the engineering and technical services to the Beaufort County School district for parking lot improvements at Eastern Elementary School in Washington, NC. The parking lot improvements consisted of approximately 121 surface parking spaces for staff / faculty parking, a 10 space bus parking lot and a travel lane for parents to drop-off and pick-up students. The property is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Hudnell Street and US-264.

 

 

The project consisted of a topographic survey including contours on a one-foot interval, location of existing storm drainage, utilities, structures, building corners, drives and walks. Rivers & Associates, Inc. provided a master design of the site plan. Included as part of the design were zoning compliance, a grading and drainage plan, stormwater treatment, and an Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plan.

 

 

Rivers & Associates, Inc. also provided the preparation of technical specifications, permitting applications, preparation of bid documents, receipt of bids, contract administration, and project close out. Required permitting was obtained from NCDOT for the street and driveway access, CAMA for the stormwater management permit and NCDENR for an erosion and sedimentation control plan.
