Rivers & Associates to Design Improvements to Buffalo Wastewater Pump Station and Force Main for Johnston County, NC

In efforts to increase the transmission capacity of collected wastewater from the City of Smithfield to the Central Johnston County Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, Johnston County has selected Rivers & Associates to provide hydraulic analysis, engineering design and permitting services associated with improvements to the existing Buffalo Wastewater Pump Station and force main.  Improvements are anticipated to include piping retrofit at the pump station and approximately 4,400 lineal feet of new 12-inch through 20-inch wastewater force main including a sub-aqueous crossing of the Neuse River.  This important project for Johnston County and its wastewater service to the City of Smithfield provides the Rivers team an excellent opportunity to showcase its expertise in the planning and design of wastewater pumping and transmission.
